Youth Haven Desert Ranch
Eloy, Arizona
(between Phoenix and Tucson)
Love these Arizona skies
This project is a camp for disadvantaged kids, ages 7 to 13.
During the winter, they come for the weekends,
and summers they come for a week.
80 acres, many buildings ( spaced far apart) a chance for the kids to enjoy the outdoors, play games and experience the love of Jesus.
Many of the SOWER camps have so many elegant activities but this one has a
Petting Farm with 2 goats.
Old West fixin's
with fire pits for evening gatherings.
The staff is busy decorating the walls for the theme of learning about the underwater sea animals.
Most of the kids around here have plenty of experience with the beach
but there is no ocean.
Isn't youth wonderful?
They can do the job lying on the floor--
and - thankfully let us use the table for our painting.
They let us paint the seaweed!
A couple of the ladies were proficient in painting the bubbles.
Didn't know we could be such 'artists'!
Patching the walls was a pretty easy job. Poor Lou!
and then they had to paint them
was done before the heavy rains started.
End of week one - celebrate by eating!
La Paloma restaurant in Eloy.
You look like you are having so much fun helping make a wonderful and memorable experience for the young children.
ReplyDeleteYou two are a blessing to others.
