Travel the USA

After the country re-opened after Covid-19, we are
"On the Road Again."
Please enjoy the 'armchair travels' and feel free to make comments.

In September of 2019, we made the
'epic' trip to the east coast for the first birthday of our grandson Evan.
Since Evan's birthday is in September, we decided to join a 29 day RV Caravan for the New England fall color. The tour starts in Maine and ends in Niagara Falls. All told, we did about 12,000 miles with the new truck and trailer.

  • California's first Mission (of 21) - founded in 1769

The bell(s) mark the beginning of El Camino Real.
The King's Highway begins here and extends 600 miles
to Mission San Francisco Solano in Sonoma.
21 Missions along this route

(There are 36 Missions in Baja California)

Father Junipero Serra founded this Mission.

The cross marks the site of the first Christian martyr.
Father Jayme was the second pastor and was killed in an
 American Indian Raid in 1775.

Interesting tree trimming-Topiary Art

An active church today, they continue to hold weddings and masses.

Birch Aquarium

Beautiful viewings, reminiscent of our 'tropical days'.

Our tickets were timed for the feeding of the penguins.
They are so much fun to watch with their waddling and swimming.
Please go to see a few videos on Facebook.

This small variety is from Australia.
They are quite small, shaped like football, and have thousands of feathers
that are so tightly packed that when they swim they never get wet.

A beautiful day along the San Diego shore.

And a glimpse of the Sea Lions in the La Jolla area.
