Travel the USA

After the country re-opened after Covid-19, we are
"On the Road Again."
Please enjoy the 'armchair travels' and feel free to make comments.

In September of 2019, we made the
'epic' trip to the east coast for the first birthday of our grandson Evan.
Since Evan's birthday is in September, we decided to join a 29 day RV Caravan for the New England fall color. The tour starts in Maine and ends in Niagara Falls. All told, we did about 12,000 miles with the new truck and trailer.

Military Museums - New Orleans and Monroe Louisiana

After spending yesterday at the World War II Museum we travel 300 miles to Monroe Louisiana to spend the night in the parking lot of this museum.
Little did we know the history of this place.
In World War II this was a very large base for training bombers and navigators.

General Claire Lee Chennault was instrumental in founding the Flying Tigers who trained and fought with the Chineses against Japan before the outbreak of World War II.

The Japanese started expanding into China in 1931, their atrocities prompted General Chennault to form a volunteer group who fought against the Japanese well before Pearl Harbor.

We were so lucky to meet the general's granddaughter, Nell.
She had many stories of her grandfather and his influence.
