Lou and Alan are working on new cabins for the camp.
The old "cabins" of concrete were in constant need of repair, so
they have switched to wood cabins.
Lou getting new skills
The cabins had a deadline for new campers next week,
so the bunk beds will be moved in before painting and finishing!
This week is Family Camp, and the counsellors are busy with the little ones, as the others are in chapel.
Sometimes you can get a complete phone call!
Other wise, the communication is almost nil.
After work, we go down to where the trucks bring the blocks of marble down from the quarry.
28,000 pounds in one chunk! Today, we saw another that was 70,000 pounds. (pretty frightening when the truck is coming down the hill and you are heading up!)
The old Mill Site
The fluted column section- I wonder if this one was destined for the Lincoln Memorial.
These huge pieces are rejects.
I thought this looked like golf course lingo,
but I guess the frisby golf is popular.
Can you find and/or hit the target in this terrain?
A great spot for a picnic while Lou fishes in the Crystal River.
A lovely area to enjoy and explore.
We have one more work week, then a few days for more exploring.
