Travel the USA

After the country re-opened after Covid-19, we are
"On the Road Again."
Please enjoy the 'armchair travels' and feel free to make comments.

In September of 2019, we made the
'epic' trip to the east coast for the first birthday of our grandson Evan.
Since Evan's birthday is in September, we decided to join a 29 day RV Caravan for the New England fall color. The tour starts in Maine and ends in Niagara Falls. All told, we did about 12,000 miles with the new truck and trailer.

Pittsburgh and New Wilmington PA - Oct 19, 2019

We had a nice 'relax' day before heading to Washington DC.

We wanted to take a tour of the Amish country, but the tour was filled, and they suggested driving to some of the shops.  Wandering around on your own is nice, but already we miss the great tours that RVFantasy provided.
The Amish don't like to have their pictures taken, so almost no photos (oh no😌)
Basically, they want to be "in the world, but not of the world".
They don't have telephones in their houses, but will have a community telephone shed where they can walk to and make/receive calls.

The buggy's try to stay on the side of the road

Lou can see the 'sign's' of where the horses have been on the side of the road.
(no, he is looking at the dips in the concrete made by their hoofs )
tehe!

Cute little covered bridge in the quaint town of Volant

Typical Amish farm
They mostly use horse powered equipment, but we do see tractors and other machinery.

After a bit of shopping, we wanted Barbecue for lunch and this is where Yelp told us to go.

We noticed an 'open' sign but discovered that it was for the Muzzleloading shop!
We went to the American Diner and had Greek food!
Go figure

Our campground "Mountain Top"

I found a campground close to Pittsburgh called Mountain Top.
It is on a mountain top, and it seems like all the areas around the city are not city
but mountains with all sorts of curvy roads.

Very easy to get lost and disoriented.
Then I found the explanation of the roads around here.

No wonder we felt so much like we were not in a city at all!
