Travel the USA

After the country re-opened after Covid-19, we are
"On the Road Again."
Please enjoy the 'armchair travels' and feel free to make comments.

In September of 2019, we made the
'epic' trip to the east coast for the first birthday of our grandson Evan.
Since Evan's birthday is in September, we decided to join a 29 day RV Caravan for the New England fall color. The tour starts in Maine and ends in Niagara Falls. All told, we did about 12,000 miles with the new truck and trailer.

Week 1 - "Weekend" -exploring Tucson

From Gospel Rescue Mission to Southwest Gospel Music Festival - Mesa Arizona

Definitely in the 'nosebleed section'
(but no problem hearing anything!😉)
Wonderful concert and uplifting music.

Love the architecture at the Mesa Arts Center

Back to Tucson,
Trail Dust Town - it's always easy to find replicas of the Old West Towns
even with the Gunfight scenes

This is about as close as I can get Lou to an opera!

Things don't change too much - do they?
Substitute ____(any of today's products)

"Water- bring plenty"
"Washout"

                                          Historic Fourth Avenue in Tucson
A district with artisans, trendy locals, and all manner of unique shops
The light rail stop

The taco shop with fresh homemade chips and a collection of HOT salsas.
They serve so many chips that they know you'll have leftovers - thus the paper bag.

The Mexican pottery shop - some very unique pieces--
I usually like to get a small souvenir of a cat -
NOT in my house!

And now our "new normal" includes a trip to the local
Radio Control Air Field

Some very nice planes

This beauty has a real miniature jet engine that actually burns jet fuel (and only costs about $13,000) and with vectoring thrust which enables it to do unusual maneuvers for a jet.
This one flies so fast that I was lucky to get a picture at all!

even a paraglider

I can probably put a video on Facebook, but not on the blog.

Nice week, nice weekend!
