One of the reasons we came to Marble for the ministry work was that I wanted to see Crystal Mill.
The trip to the mill was indeed adventurous. A serious jeep road with many jeeps and ATV’s, going in both directions. There was just enough room to pull off or back up to a place to let other drivers pass.
Scenery along the way is so pretty
especially after the rain we have had.
My nurse told me this is a picture of "White House"
I loved it because of the way the tree line echos the shape of the rock.
After we reached the mill, the original Crystal City was a 3 minute walk.
The open valley looks like there is a place for helicopter landing
(in case of a medical emergency)
The store has souvenirs, satellite Wi Fi for credit card purchases, and solar panels for electricity.
We were talking to a couple down in Marble (at "The Hub"- the only place to get Wi-Fi) and they invited us to their cabin at Crystal City.
(didn't stay, but what a neat offer!)
Alan an Pat (co-workers) visited with this family from India who had hiked
5.5 miles up to Crystal City, so we gave them a ride back down and
had a "tea party" between our 2 trailers.
Great day!
Then, of course, time for a little more fishing
at
Lizard Lake
This time it was catch and release.
