Germantown, NY - Tousey Winery .Sept 14

 Traveling through all the winding roads and hill country is an unending "tunnel of trees"
(reminds us of the one in Hawaii, but that one was short!)
We stopped at one Park Service Visitor Center in the Delaware Water Gap.  The center was closed, but the short walk to the falls was a pleasant mid day break.

We are finding the robust red wines hard to find.

They are mostly whites and sweeter than we prefer.

But it is fun and get to meet interesting folks.

This cafe is probably the best ever!

Sitting at the counter, watching the chef with all his artistry.

This Caprese was so good that we ordered another.

The fresh Mozzarella is made from the milk of a water buffalo.  Only the ones in Italy can produce this kind of milk and the chef receives a weekly supply from Italy.

We watched him cut fresh peaches, throw in a bunch of butter and berries, and 5 minutes later we have our breakfast for tomorrow because we are too full now.

Travel days- Pittsburg to Klingerstown PA

Where in the world is Klingerstown, Pennsylvania??
Over many many rolling hills, winding roads and valleys.
Traversing this country is certainly a challenge - especially if you're not used to it, and especially if you're pulling a trailer over the non-interstate roads.

Trying to get through areas of Pittsburg were especially trying.
Does anyone else have a "love-hate" relationship with Google????
I hate it when you miss the "slight right' and then it tells you to take a "hard left" (i.e. 270 degree turn up a very steep, narrow, winding gravel road.     EEK!!

The "love" part is when we finally arrive at our destination - a beautiful winery (a free nights stay)

Williamstown, Kentucky - Sept 11, 2019

The Ark Encounter 

It is indeed an amazing place.  Build on 800 acres at a cost of $100 million (all privately funded), it took 12 years to build.  The ship (boat) is all wood, contains 1.5 million board feet of wood, with huge trees, and large beams throughout.   Many of the large trees are from Utah forests with  Amish craftsmen to direct the construction.

This is HUGE!

1 1/2 football fields long, 1/2 football field wide, and 5 stories high.

Genesis 6-10

The displays show how complicated the engineering techniques of 4000 years ago had to be to house, feed, and care for all these animals for a year. 

 This process was for snakes and reptiles

The displays of the animals are amazing - the process to create them is painstaking and creates such lifelike models.  Also included are the sounds of the animals as you walk through.

They use actual hair in these models.

Noah developed  possible systems for fresh water, ventilation, fresh air and light.

Since the Bible doesn't state details other than the dimensions of the boat, 

scientists and engineers have taken some "ark-tistic" licensing in their theories of how these things could be accomplished.

How they could keep all 6000 or so animals kept and cared for is something I have never thought about very much.

The living quarters are so lifelike.

 At the end of the year when the land dried sufficiently, Noah releases the dove.

And God promises to never destroy the earth by water again.

Petersburg, Kentucky - Sept 10, 2019

We are in Kentucky!
The Creation Museum was enjoyable with the "4D" movie experience of the 6 days of creation.

We particularly enjoyed the lectures we attended. 
One on how the Bible does talk a lot about dinosaurs.
The other is on the marvel of how God engineered the human body in such intricate ways  (lectures on the eye and the ear.)

They had a particularly good displays of how the flood impacted our world.  We especially enjoyed this since we had done the Grand Canyon float trip  with some of the Answers in Genesis group.

We enjoyed a concert by the sculptor of the dinosaurs.  He is/was also a Nashville musician.

Just can't resist anything about St. George!
