Banff Gondola

The Banff Gondola is a trip certainly worth doing.

Spectacular view of the town of Banff.

Enjoyed seeing lots of the bighorn sheep.

Lots of people climbing the 385 (or so) steps to the top of the mountain.

The indoor cafe was a real treat.

Great seafood chowder and a spectacular burger.

We ordered the desert because we didn't understand what the menu said.

It was good!

Enjoying the views after a large lunch.

They're so cute!

The view on the way down afforded a view of the whole U shaped valley 

carved by the glacier.

Back in town, the deer are feeding at the train station.

Fairmont Hot Springs to Banff National Park, Alberta Canada

 We have been awe struck with the scenery in this part of the world.

This 100 mile trip from Fairmont Hot Springs to Banff was full of beautiful surprises.

These snow covered peaks are so gorgeous, 

and it just seems that they never end!

Just "WOW"

The water coming from the glaciers in the mountains is often blue green

because of the glacial erosion and the fine silt particles,

 or "glacial flour" in the water.

Leaving British Columbia, entering Alberta.

The rock views remind me of Zion.

The town of Banff is so crowded that they encourage all the mass transit.

Parking is almost impossible. This is the administration building for Banff

Russ and Sue are great traveling partners!

(Catch up) Leaving northern Idaho

We have been without internet for several days, so please bear with me in all the catch up blog posts.  

Leaving Hayden, Idaho to Fairmont Hot Springs in Canada 

was a pleasant trip (with no border issues).
